Scorose (2024)

Scorose is the het ship between Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Granger-Weasley from the Harry Potter fandom.

Deathly Hallows[]

Scorpius and Rose first see each other on the London King's Cross Station Platform 9¾, when they both set off for their first year at Hogwarts. When Ron, Rose’s father, notices the Malfoy family, he encourages Rose to beat Draco Malfoy’s only son, Scorpius, in every test. Hermione protests, saying that he shouldn’t turn the kids against each other before the school year has even started. Ron reluctantly agrees with his wife, but jokingly adds that Rose shouldn’t get “too friendly” with Scorpius, because Arthur, her grandfather, won’t forgive her if she marries a pure-blood wizard.

The Cursed Child[]

On the train, Rose and her cousin Albus find Scorpius, who sits by himself in his compartment. They join him. At first Rose and Scorpius don’t get on well, since she at least partially believes in the false rumors of Scorpius being Voldemort’s son. Rose leaves to look for another compartment, but Albus stays and says sorry for his cousin, explaining that she can be very fierce. Scorpius says that he “likes it”. When they get sorted into houses, Rose is followed by Scorpius in line to the Sorting Hat.

When they’re about to set off to start their second year at Hogwarts, Scorpius finds the cousins and greets Rose in a very enthusiastic manner, but she leaves without even responding to him. Scorpius is described as being “hopeful”, and when Rose is gone, he tells Albus that she’s secretly pining after him. When McGonagall announces Rose as Gryffindor’s newest member of the Quidditch team, Scorpius cheers for her and tells surprised Albus that he thinks she’s brilliant.

At the beginning of their fourth year, Rose wants to be friends with Albus again. When she meets his best friend, Scorpius, on the train, he tells her she smells nice — like flowers and fresh bread. She doesn’t understand him and simply walks away. Scorpius realizes she doesn’t like him and Albus has to comfort his friend. When Scorpius and Albus accidentally create an alternate reality, Scorpius is very distraught to have found out that Rose doesn’t exist in it. After the Malfoys help Harry, Ron, and Hermione with Delphi, Rose warms up to Scorpius and starts calling him Bread Head. He tries to hug her, but she kicks him. Later he asks her out, but she turns him down, and according to Scorpius, she does it with pity in her eyes instead of hatred. Scorpius is sure that it’s only a start and with time he will manage to convince her.

It is Rose’s most popular ship and Scorpius’s second, most popular ship after Scorbus. Many fans found Ron’s comment on his daughter not being allowed to marry a “pure-blood” interesting, suspecting it might mean something will happen between the two out of spite. Some Dramione fans support the ship as they view it as the continuation of their parents.
